James also acted as a consultant working in the sales effectiveness and business development area across all major business channels including, Grocery, Food Service, Import/Export, Franchise, Retail, and Hospitality both in Australia and overseas (Asia and New Zealand.)

His Line Management roles over the years have seen him manage Sales Teams on a State, Regional, National, and International basis, including the management of major accounts such as Coles, Myers, Woolworth’s, Metcash, K-Mart, Target, Mobil, Ampol, Caltex, and various major retailers throughout Asia and New Zealand.

His recent achievements and projects include the evaluation of the field performance and re-establishing the company structure of a national trade exchange. He also investigated the potential of an international online shopping mall business, managed the initial discussion with potential suppliers, developed the franchise model, and interviewed potential franchisees for each category both in Australia and New Zealand. He led a negotiation team for the initial discussions on the supply of value added food and fresh food products to the leading supermarket chains in Asia (Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and Brunei).

Moreover, he was responsible for the setting up of a national distribution network to focus on the sales and trade marketing of products to the Australian Convenience and Independent Grocery Markets.

He has prepared marketing plans for 3M, CSR, Colly Cotton, AGL, TNT, King Gee, Federal Publishing, the AMA and other significant businesses.

In 1987 the marketing industry recognised Leigh’s profound efforts with accreditation as an Associate Fellow to the Australian Marketing Institute. B&T magazine selected Leigh for it’s inaugural “Marketing Profile” in 1991. Leigh has taught the Masters of Marketing degree at UNSW. In the mid 2000’s, he lectured in Marketing Management & Planning at UTS Graduate School of Business in the MBA degree and capstone undergraduate course.

Most recently he has helped gain global distribution for a FMCG brand, developed pre-launch product development with an innovation in high density property management, worked on a successful IPO for a mining investment company and executed pre-launch appraisals in hardware and industrial markets.

Leigh holds a Bachelor of Commerce – Marketing from the University of New South Wales, and Graduate Diploma in Strategic Planning from London City University.

He has been involved in large public sector applications such as JusticeLink and defining user experience strategies for financial products at Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Westpac Banking Corporation and RaboBank.

Chidi holds Masters degrees in International Business (MIB) and Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Western Sydney.
